זרימת מסה היא מדידה גרבימטרית של המסה הנעה לאורך זמן, מבוטאת בקילוגרמים לשעה, קילוגרמים ליום, גרם לשנייה או יחידות דומות. מד זרימת מסה תרמי מתבטא כ- Nm3 / שעה סטנדרטיים או כקוביות רגל לדקה (SCFM). מכיוון שיחידות קצב הזרימה הללו מתוקננות בטמפרטורות ולחץ ספציפיים, הן מתממשות ליחידות זרימת מסה.
